Israel Rashkovsky

Israel Rashkovsky, guitarist, composer and teacher, is one of the most veteran teachers in Israel.

He has been working as a guitar teacher at the Israel Conservatory of Music, Tel Aviv since 1981.

He began studying music at the age of 13 in his hometown of Odessa in Ukraine and continued to study in Moscow.

In 1972 he immigrated to Israel.

In 1979, Rashkovsky was the first guitarist in Israel to record a record containing classic pieces for classical guitar. This record and another of his are still for sale.

Some of his works were published by IMI and the Israel Music Center. One of Rashkovsky’s works was awarded first place in a guitar-writing competition at the Tel Aviv Guitar Festival in 1995, and is performed together with other works by various guitarists in Israel and abroad.

Rashkovsky has performed as soloist in a series of recitals and festivals.

In 1994, Rashkovsky performed his “Fantasia Tango” for guitar and orchestra in a series of concerts with the Ramat Gan and Hadera Chamber orchestras.
