the Israel Music Institute was established in 1961 in order to promote the Israeli classical music. IMI operates in several areas, including publishing music and books, producing concerts and festivals, producing recording of Israeli music, research and publications about Israeli music. IMI also serves as an international information center and is a member of the International Association of Music Centres (IAMIC).
