About the creation

Music for violin and harp was originally written in 1960 for violin and harp for Rosalia and Lucien Savin. In its original version it was first performed in Israel in 1963 by Miriam Fried and Francoise Netter. Formally, the work (in free sonata form, with an introduction and a postlude) contains traditional development elements side by side with the technique of serial variation. Fingerings and bowings in the violin part were made by the violinist Yair Kless.
