About the creation

Luna Park (1986) (= amusement park) is a suite for piano solo, which its first movement is written under the spell of a mechanical music box installed in a merry-go-round that is located at the Washington D.C. national mall. Next movements are in changing moods, partly in awe of Schumann's carnival miniatures. The concluding movement is a large set of variations on the merry-go-round opening theme. The virtuosic conclusion refers to the most thrilling rides at the park.
