About the creation
Dithyramb (Hallel) for twelve voices, or mixed choir a cappella, was written in Nivember 1966 as a commission frmo the Rinat Choir, and is based on a distinctive scale developed by the composer himself, which is a type of mode formed by four pentachords with a total range of about two octaves. This mode includes the12 tones of the chromatic scale, as well as some enharmonics, which are functionally independent.
The work is in the form of a motet, in which the Soli and the Tutti interchange in the manner of a responsorial Psalmody.
