About the creation

Five preludes for violin and piano are written in the USSR in 1968. In 1974 they were edited in Israel by the composer for the Educational Music Series of the Israel Music Institute.

The first performance of the work in Russia was given by Albert Markov with the composer at the piano. Its Israeli premiere was in a broadcast recital by Avraham Melamed (violin) and Ruth Menze (piano).
