About the creation
The work is for a number of pianos (up to 4 instruments) and should be performed on the keyboard and the strings inside the piano (with wooden- and felt sticks). It is an attempt to exhaust all sound possibilities of the instrument. The piano should be played in a traditional way, but also with fists, palms, nails and joints. The score is divided into three sections (high, middle, and low register) by arrows. On the high register the piano is used for short notes proportional to their location on the score and to the diatonic clusters (white square) and chromatic clusters (black square). Then, a harmonic progression will follow in a proportional duration. After that, isolated sounds emerge complemented by black and white triangles (chromatic and diatonic clusters), starting in one point until the entireness of the range of the climax on the second circle. Ascending figures to the highest pitch possible are to be played after that, followed by ornamental figures molto legato. There are different kinds of clusters in the rest of the piece, which give high tension and the possibility to obtain strongest dynamic. At the bottom of the graphic the work finishes with a large chromatic cluster, interrupted by a short chord without any other intervention. The piece can be performed in any direction as the performer wishes. The duration is undefined.
