About the creation

The composition To Gather Alone is a short, humorous work consisting of two sections. The first part is written mostly in unison using both instruments, which are intersectingcomplementary to each other. The style is a sort of a dance in the "Swingy" character, free and mischievous, occasionally interrupted by snap phrases. The second part is a sort of angular, frantic and unpredictable Waltz dance. Although both instruments are playing together, each one is actually alone. Sometimes the two are mutually parallel and mutually exclusive, but sometimes one is late and one is early – accidentally on purpose. To Gather Alone attempts to implicitly express different forms of relationships between people. It is comforting to know that the last note in the composition – is played distinctly together - and in a stable tonal area.
