About the creation

Fantasmi was composed as an homage to Vivaldi’s “la notte” concerto, while “Fantasmi” (ghosts) is the headline of one of the movements there.  Vivaldi’s concerto, as I see it, follows the varied mind movements that one may experience at night, when the shadows and mystery join the daily problems and turn to new thoughts, new ideas and plans, nightmares and dreams.

I find in this image of ghosts a colorful way to describe these mind movements. In addition, the image of ghosts seems to me like an invitation for a dialog between different times. I accept the invitation, and adding my personal voice, in so far different place and time from Vivaldi’s ones, in an open musical form, fantasia, that match, in my opinion, the feel of the concerto.
