
Hed Bahack
Hed Bahack (b. 1994) is an Israeli composer currently living in Leipzig, Germany. His works have been performed by Ensemble Recherche, Ensemble Ascolta, Quatuor Diotima, Klangforum Wien, the Mivos Quartet, Divertimento Ensemble, Ensemble Multilatérale, Les Métaboles and Meitar Ensemble, and in music festivals such as Impuls (Graz), ARCo (Marseille) and CEME (Tel Aviv). He studied music composition with Ruben Seroussi at the Tel Aviv University, and with Fabien Lévy at the Leipzig University of Music. He has participated in a number of composition masterclasses and workshops, including with Tristan Murail, Francesco Filidei, Péter Eötvös, Clara Iannotta, Ramon Lazkano and Pierluigi Billone. Hed Bahack has received several awards: Israel Composers’ League “Klon” 1st prize (2023), Gesellschaft für Musiktheorie 1st prize (2023), “Szymanowski” 2nd prize (2022), and Israel Conservatory 2nd prize (2021), and scholarships: Deutscher-Musikrat (2022) and America-Israel Foundation (2022/23). He was invited to participate at the “Remus Georgescu” International Festival in Timișoara, Romania (2022), at the “NODUS” artist residence in Les Coves de Vinromà, Spain (2022), at the Akademie Kontemporär in Hamburg (2023), and for a three-month artist residence at the Eckernförde Künstlerhaus, Germany (2024).
