Idit Heiman
Idit Heiman began her music and piano studies at the age of 10 and later graduated from the Tel Aviv Academy of Music, where she studied conducting and composition. She also studied with the composer Sergiu Natra. Heiman resides and works in Kibbutz Ein Harod Meuhad, where she actively contributes to the cultural and holiday life of the kibbutz, focusing on musical activities. Her compositions are often written for music students and amateur performers, and she frequently prepares arrangements for musicians with various instruments for events and performances.
Some of her printed works include Gilgulim for solo flute, published by Or-Tav, and There Clouds for mixed choir, with words by Natan Zach, found in the collection Eshkolot – Collection of Works for the Choir (I.B.W.P).
Heiman’s works have been performed on different stages, and some have been recorded. Among these are Time of Harvestfor solo recorder; Variations Erev Ba for a recorder ensemble (soprano, alto, tenor, bass); Clouds and Wind for recorder ensemble; A Tear in the Heart for solo flute (also played on oboe or cello); Poems from a Kibbutz for mezzo-soprano and flute, set to the words of Yoram Tahar-Lev; Who Knows What in Heaven for soprano, oboe, viola, and cello, with lyrics by Amir Gilboa; and The Jasmine Bloomed for violin and piano.
