Rita Monkovich

Rita Monkovich was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1954. In 1961 She was accepted to the school of Vilnius, specializing in piano. In 1972 She graduated from this school with a specialty in musicology. Between 1972-1974 Monkovich studied musicology at the conservatory of Vilnius. In February 1974 Monkovich and her family immigrated to Israel During 1975-1981 Monkovich studied for a bachelor’s degree in theory and composition at The Music Academy in Jerusalem, During 1982-1987 Monkovich studied for a Master’s Degree in composition at The Music Academy in Tel Aviv.

Above 70 of Her compositions were performed at the Academies, Concerts, Festivals and Workshops. Monkovich taught music in Jerusalem and at the Conservatories of Nathanya.

She is also the Member of Composer’s League in Israel and a Forum of Women Composers in Israel.
