
Rivka Elkoshi
Rivka Elkoshi (b. 1949) is a specialist in music education, with extensive expertise in piano pedagogy, composition for children, and research in music education. As a composer, her work centers on music for children’s and youth ensembles, creating pieces for beginner and intermediate piano students, as well as school ensembles. Her compositions include children’s operas such as “Intervals and Intrigues” and “The Lost Baby Frog”, and musical stories for piano and narrator like “Stories and Sounds”. She has also written for piano four hands, with works including “Confusion in a Cooking Pot”, “Dance of the Wind”, and “The Depths of the Sea”.
Elkoshi has also developed a comprehensive series of 49 booklets for percussion ensembles, alongside a collection of compositions for piano instruction in keyboard classes, titled “The Piano Class Ensemble”.
Her research has been widely published in books, journals, and presented at international conferences both in Israel and globally. She investigates musical perception and literacy, focusing on the synergistic relationship between visual art and classical music. Her current research explores how art music, inspired by visual art, can enhance multi-sensory listening experiences.
