Ron Shehebar

Ron Shehebar is an Israeli composer and guitarist whose work spans metal, electronic, classical and experimental music. His piece EMET won first prize in the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music’s composition competition and was premiered by the Israel Contemporary Players conducted by Zsolt Nagy. His works have also been performed at the Ani Kol music festival and by various chamber ensembles. In addition to his concert works, Shehebar also writes music for the stage. His theatre works include a musical adaptation of Roey Maliach Reshef’s play The People Have Spoken (2022), Pus Misẖak (2023) and more, in collaboration with director Adi Schwarzman.

Shehebar is the founder, lead guitarist and primary songwriter of the contemporary metal band Unleash the Pain. The band has released several recordings, including the concept album Holes (2017) and multiple singles, and has performed across Israel and Europe. They are currently working on their second album.

Shehebar holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in composition from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel-Aviv University, where he studied with Hadas Pe’ery. He previously studied composition at Mor-Metroverse High School’s music program under Michal Shenhav.
