Yael Lavi
Yael Lavi (b. 1996, Kiryat Tiv’on) is a composer, arranger, pianist, and vocalist, as well as an educator and community leader. A graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where she studied composition under Zohar Sharon, she completed her degree with Dean’s List honors in 2023.
Her musical path began as a jazz pianist at the Kiryat Tiv’on Conservatory, expanding to composition, voice, and a commitment to connecting people through music. She has taught at leading institutions, including the Yellow Submarine, Shirat HaLevi’im School, and the Jerusalem Academy Conservatory.
Yael is the founder and conductor of Kolan, the Jerusalem Women’s Choir—a multi-generational ensemble where shared voices and stories meet in harmony. She also directs the Beit Reka Music Center in Jaffa, nurturing local creativity and community engagement.
Her works and arrangements have been performed by the Jerusalem Street Orchestra, Jimbo J, and “Lieder in Pita Bread” ensemble.
