Yitzhak Samira

Yitzhak (Tsachi) Samira is a composer, arranger and violinist based in Jerusalem. Tsachi was born in Haifa in 1993 and grew up in Kibbutz Tel Katzir in the Jordan Valley, where he started studying violin playing on his childhood. Studied at the music department of IASA high school, where he was exposed to composition for the first time by the composer Israel Sharon. During high school period studied violin and viola playing in Hassadna Conservatory in Jerusalem with Prof. Michael Geisler and Gadi Abadi. Finished his studies of B.Mus. in Composition at The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with Prof. Yinam Leef and Prof. Haim Permont. 


His work “The Wind’s Blower” for Flute Choir won 1st prize in the 2022 Israel Flute Choir composition competition and has been published by Israel Music Institute. Tsachi is a violinist in Jerusalem Orchestra East & West conducted and musically directed by Tom Cohen and sings in the Bass sections of The Jerusalem Chamber Choir and The Jerusalem Vocal Consort which performs ancient vocal music. His musical works and arrangements were performed by Israel Flute Choir, The Jerusalem Chamber Choir, The Jerusalem Vocal Consort, The Efroni Choir, Jerusalem Orchestra East & West, The Jerusalem Street Orchestra, and the Israeli artists Shiri Maimon, Jimbo J and Shlomi Shabat, among other ensembles.
