About the creation

The Chaconne for harp was composed in 1962. it is based on Psalm XXIII and its six variations correspond to the six verses of the psalm. The theme is a melodic skeleton, as it were, and the variations are embellished and ornamented versions of it, in the same way as the musician in eastern countries bases his decoration on the maqam.
