About the creation

Harmonic Sound Image for Sivan and Gil was composed in 1998 as a gift to two of his former students, Sivan and Gil. It presents a dialogue between two musicians who touch the keys of the marvelous modern instrument, the grand piano, with wonderful sensitivity. The character of the music is shaped by the composer's intimate acquaintance with the artists. Thus, the two piano are given different part: one has a clearly masculine personality based mainly on fragmented motifs that go through various modes. The other is feminine, harmonious and continuous, almost choral-like. Each of the parts is soloistic and reveals an independent character but they join together in a harmonious piano duet.
