About the creation

"Profiles of Soul" (IMI) is a contemporary, mystical, intriguing piece, impressionistic in attitude, yet leaning in style on – though not quoting anything from – the melodic style of the Eastern Mediterranean Jewish communities. It opens on a broadly conceived free melodic rhapsodic theme that roams between a charming meditation and a rhythmical, brimming-with-joy dance. It is available in two versions: for oboe and piano as well as flute and piano.
