Seven Late Spring Pieces for piano was written in 1973 and first performed in New York in 1974 by Arthur Tollefson.

In 1973 it was performed as a ballet by the Anna Nassif Dance Theater under the title Knots (choreographed by Anna Nassif).

In 1979 the composer made an orchestral version of the work which was first performed in USA in 1980 by the Memphis State University Symphony Orchestra conducted by Robert Griffith.
