About the creation

Song of Land for string quartet is an arrangement based on an earlier version of a song by Sasha Argov and Nathan Yonatan, as it appears in my Shirey Erets. The song is of a preeminently expressive character and lends itself to an arrangement which underlines this aspect both rhythmically and by use of a tonal chromatic harmony approaching the harmonic language typical of the romantic period. This arrangement was commissioned by the Jerusalem Music Centre, Mishkenot Sha'ananim – Young Musicians Group.  Menachem Wiesenberg
