About the creation

The Lord My Rock for double bass, was written in 1974 as a commission from the Israel Music Institute for its Educational Music Series. And is intended mainly for the first position. The work is based on a song for the Sabbath eve sung by the Jews of Corfu. The song is taken from the collection of Jewish folk tunes of Prof. Haim Alexander.
