About the creation

The Triptych for Viola and Guitar unfolds scenes from my childhood in between Israel and Gibraltar: The Levanter wind which carries the smells of the Maghreb on the verge of Europe. The cyclic movement of the sea waves and the changing temperatures of the it’s currents, the Buleria rhythm echoing from within the caves of the gypsies and the Sephardic litany erupting from my grandfather’s synagogue arched windows. The musical flow is somewhat restless, like a back and forth, never-ending migration experience across the Mediterranean, suggesting a state of mind where the sense of belonging, the solid ground to be rooted in, can be found merely within the music itself.
