About the creation

The work was commissioned by the Israeli Music Institute for the Eliezer Peri Educational Series, and was written in 1974. The work is based on a Bucharian wedding song ("Kukiya"). The recording of the song was made by Johanna Spector and transcribed by Haim Alexander and is a part of the National sound Archives in the Jewish National and University Library. (No. Y-60)
